Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), who are helping building a high-speed railway in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China, have ushered in the full connect of its longest tunnel, which is 7,036 meters long.
Constructors from CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd greeted the full connection of Rongcen Tunnel on November 21, 2023, which is part of the Yulin-Cenxi Railway, with a grand celebration ceremony held outside the entrance of the tunnel, which is the No 3 Bid for the railway. The tunnel is a single-hole tunnel with double tracks.
The Yulin-Cenxi Railway, the section between Yulin city and Cenxi on the border between Guangxi and Guangdong and an extension of the Nanning-Yulin High-speed Railway under construction as part of the Nanning-Shenzhen High-speed Railway, is a key project invested by Guangxi Communications Investment Group (GCIG) for the comprehensive and in-depth integration with the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The celebration ceremony, jointly hosted by the Party committees of GCIG and CREC4, drew related officials from the Department of Transport of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Cenxi City, GCIG, China Railway Nanning Bureau Group, Guangxi Railway Investment Group, Guangxi Nanning-Yulin Railway Co., Ltd as well as CREC4. Representatives from relevant agencies also attended the event, which also served a promotional drive to boost the railway’s construction through Party building work.

Running for some 111 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour for the trains, the Yulin-Cenxi Railway has three stations, namely Yulin North Station, Rongxian South Station and Cenxi East Station. On September 30, 2022, the construction of the Yulin-Cenxi Railway started in full swing.

He called the CREC4 builders to take construction progress as the key, work safety as the foundation to avoid any accident, wisdom as a drive to speed up the construction work, and Party building as the soul to continuously polish CREC4’s brand in Party building work.
During the event, the attendees also conducted a field research at the CREC4 Prefabricated Components Smart Center for the No 3 Bid of Nanning-Shenzhen High-speed Railway.
