China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) has kicked off its Southern Headquarters Base project in Guangzhou, provincial capital of South China’s Guangdong Province, with an input of 3.155 billion yuan ($438 million) and laying a solid foundation for building it into a world first-class construction enterprise in a high-quality and accelerated manner.

The construction started in a joint launching ceremony on November 18, 2023 at the city’s Huadu District, drawing participants from the Communist Party of China (CPC) Huadu District Committee, Huadu District People’s Government, CREC4 and related agencies.
Chen Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the CRCE4’s Party Committee and secretary of CPC Commission for Discipline Inspection at CREC4, presided over the launching ceremony, during which Liu Bo, Party secretary and chairman of CREC4, delivered a keynote speech.

Liu stressed that as a “national team” and a “main force” serving local socioeconomic development, CREC4 has for a long time established sound cooperation with Guangzhou, participating in a number of national, provincial and municipal key engineering projects such as the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway, Xintang Railway Station of Guangzhou-Shanwei High-speed Railway and Guangzhou Metro.
This project is another fruitful achievement in bolstering strategic cooperation between CREC4 and Huadu District, he said, adding that CREC4 will fully leverage its whole industrial-chain advantages in investment and resources, actively taking part in Guangzhou’s infrastructure construction to promote more projects to take root in the city and contributing more to the building of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Zhu Xiaoyong, a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Committee at CREC4, deputy general manager and chief economist of CREC4, and chief of CREC4 South China Regional Operations Command, and Zhang Jun, assistant general-manager of CREC4 and director of CREC4 Investment and Development Department, also attended the launching ceremony.
At the ceremony, leaders from the CPC Huadu District Committee, Huadu District Government, Liu Bo, Zhu Xiaoyong and Zhang Jun jointly pressed the project start button, to showcase the start of the construction of the CREC4 Southern Headquarters Base project.
