The construction site of Songshan Lake Waterworks in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, which is being undertaken by builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4), has won a top title of “Demonstration Site for Safe Production and Civilized Construction for Housing and Municipal Engineering” in the prefecture-level city.

The Songshan Lake Waterworks Project, which will be the largest monomer water plant in Asia upon completion and is being built by constructors of CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd, received the honour on November 5, 2023.
Located in the Jinduo Port area of Songshan Lake, the Songshan Lake Waterworks will provide a daily production of tap water at 1.1 million cubic meters, and will be the largest monomer water plant in Asia. The project adopts a water production process of “pretreatment + conventional treatment + ozone activated carbon + membrane treatment + safe disinfection.”
Upon completion, the water plant will provide high-quality tap water for residents in eight downs and streets, including Songshan Lake, Dalang, Dalingshan, Chang’an and the central district. Meanwhile, it will be also of major significance in reducing the impact of upward salt tide on tap water for residents in Dongguan, and safeguarding the safe water supply for them.
