Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) completed constructing a connecting line at 4 am on November 10, 2023 in Hefei with Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway after 300 minutes of intense work.

Constructors from CREC4 Eighth Engineering Co., Ltd started to build the connecting line from Zhuxi to Feixi Beijing-Hong Kong HSR yard at 11 pm on November 9 and completed the job successfully and on time.

Since September this year, the project department has designed detailed plans in advance, and continuously optimized the construction plan, laying a solid foundation for the smooth completion of the construction of the liaison line.

Upon completion of the connecting line, the starting point of Beijing-Hong Kong HSR in Hefei City was extended northward from Feixi Beijing-Hong Kong HSR yard to the Taohua Township post, thus achieving the double-track operation of Beijing-Hong Kong HSR between Feixi and Taohua Township post.

The Beijing-Hong Kong HSR has been linked section by section. On December 1, 2019, the Shangqiu to Hefei Beicheng section of the Beijing-Hong Kong HSR was put into operation, followed by the Hejiasuo-Ganzhou West section on December 26, 2019, the Feixi-Shuangling Station section on December 22, 2020, the Ganzhou West to Yangtai Mountain Station section on December 10, 2021, and the Anqing West to Lushan (Lushan Mountain) section on December 30, 2021.

As part of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan Transport Corridor — one of the country’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” HSR lines network, the Beijing-Hong Kong HSR will connect the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Central Plains city clusters, city clusters in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the western-coast city clusters of the Taiwan Strait, and the city clusters in the Pearl River Delta region.
