Liu Bo, Party secretary and chairman of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), has attended a key event concerning the standardization management of the Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway and delivered a speech, calling on CRRE4 builders to enhance work safety and help build the HSR into a gem project.
Liu made the speech on November 7, 2023 at the standardization management onsite meeting of the Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu HSR, which was held at the CREC4’s No 2 bid project department for the HSR.
Ma Chunshan, Party secretary and chairman of Yangtze River Coastal Railway Group Co., Ltd (YRCR), and some other YRCR leaders including Sun Yanying, Li Songbao, Liu Xiaohua, Men Jinyong, as well as Li Meng, deputy general manager of CREC4 and chief of CREC4 Southwestern China Regional Operations Command, also attended the event together with other 140-odd participants. Yangtze River Coastal Railway Group Co., Ltd (YRCR), set up on December 20, 2020, was jointly launched by State railway operator —China Railway Group — and six provinces and municipalities of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing and Sichuan.
It has been learned that the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu HSR will bring many cities along China’s longest river into an HSR era. Upon operation, it can allow travelers from Wuhan to reach Shanghai or Chongqing within three hours, fully boosting the transport of passengers and cargo along the line. The Wuhan-Yichang section, which starts at Hankou Station and runs westward through Hanchuan, Tiamen, Zhongxiang before ending at Yichang, is 315.571 kilometers long. Allowing trains to run at 350 km an hour, it will have eight stations — Hankou, Hanchuan East, Tiamen North, Jingshan South, Zhongxiang South, Jingmen West, Dangyang West and Yichang North.
Ma Chunshan called on the railway builders to pay attention to four areas of work. First, it is vital to focus on work safety rectification. Second, it is imperative to solidify risk prevention and control work for this phased period. Third, it is a must to strengthen work safety control in key procedures. And lastly, it is necessary to conduct special emergency drills to speed up work safety.
Liu Bo stressed that taking this onsite meeting as a new starting point, CREC4 builders should bolster safe engineering by closely focusing on various goals and tasks, so as to seek higher pursuit of standardized management, eye on building a gem project and showcase CREC4’s excellency in engineering work.
During the meeting, the attendees also visited CREC4’s construction sites of Piers No 980 and 1087 of the Xiaotianqiao Super Bridge on the railway line and listened to relevant work reports from CREC4 builders.
