Liu Bo, Party secretary and chairman of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), has attended a signing ceremony in Beijing for CREC4’s construction of a 6.96-kilometer-long railway line in Mongolia.

The signing ceremony between CREC4 and its Mongolian partners on October 19, 2023 was for CREC4’s general contracting of engineering project in building the Mongolian Xiberkulun Port Railway Engineering Project, another undertaking in boosting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The new railway will start from the Sino-Mongolian cross-border point at the end of China’s Linhe-Ceke Railway in Inner Mongolia, and extends northward for some 6.96 kilometers. There will be a newly-built railway station, known as the Xiberkulun Port Station. China’s Ceke Port is situated at the China-Mongolia border.

It has been learned that the Xiberkulun Port Station will be arranged in a form of one station and three yards, namely the border inspection yard, cargo arrival and departure yard, and freight yard.

Upon completion, the Mongolian Xiberkulun Port Railway will help largely elevate the cargo-handling capacity of the two countries’ border ports, and promote the economic and trade exchanges between China and Mongolia.

China’s Ceke Port, which is located in Ejine Banner under Alshaa League in northwestern Inner Mongolia, is the third largest land port of Inner Mongolia.
