Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), who are helping build a 348.9-kilometer-long high-speed railway linking Tianjin Municipality and Weifang City in Shandong Province, have erected the first box girder on the whole line.
Constructors from CREC4 First Engineering Co., Ltd, who are undertaking a 31.792-kilometer-long bid on the HSR, installed the first box girder for the whole line successfully on October 16, 2023. The box girder was made at CREC Lijin Prefabrication Yard.
The job of CREC4 First Engineering Co., Ltd mainly covers railway bridge engineering, including the Wudi Super Bridge and the Bindong Super Bridge Traversing Yellow River. It needs to produce cast-in-place box beams, install continuous box beams and erect 911 box girders for the engineering work.
The Tianjin-Weifang HSR, as a key vertical section of the nation’s railway network of “eight vertical lines and eight horizontal lines” and Shandong’s railway network of “four vertical lines and six horizontal lines,” is also an important part of the national coastal HSR system and the Bohai Rim HSR system.
Upon completion, the Tianjin-Weifang HSR will connect the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Bohai Rim region and the Northeast Economic Zone in the north, and link with the Yangtze River Delta region, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and South China regions in the south. It will play role in boosting the connectivity between Shandong Province and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta region, and in enhancing Shandong’s better service for and integration into the country’s new development pattern.
