A metro development project in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, built by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), has won a top title of “Demonstration Case for Urban Rail Transit TOD (Transit-Oriented Development)” during a national conference for metro development.

CREC4 got the top honour during the First TOD Development Conference for Metros in China, which was held in Wuxiduring September 21 and 22, drawing the participation of Liu Bo, Party secretary and chairman of CREC4. The project was called Yuyue Tiancheng (Joyful and Heavenly Achievements), which is a rolling-stock depot comprehensive development project located in Juqu Road and was undertaken by CREC4 Construction Engineering Co.

More than 700 representatives from from 51 Chinese cities with metro lines and the whole TOD industrial chain of urban rail transit participated in the event, which was hosted by China Association of Metros and the Wuxi municipal government. A total of 21 projects were awarded at the conference.
Geng Jin, CREC4 Business Manager and chief of CREC4 East China Regional Operations Command, Zhang Jun, assistant general-manager of CREC4 and director of CREC4 Investment and Development Department, and leaders from CREC4 Construction Engineering Co and CREC4 Second Engineering Co., Ltd, also took part in the conference, of which CREC4 is a co-organizer.
During the conference, the delegates also toured the Yuyue Tiancheng (Joyful and Heavenly Achievements) project, which is located in Zhongrui Ecological City of Wuxi Economic Development Zone. The project, with a total investment of some 22.1 billion yuan ($3.07 billion), has a total construction area of around 1.1122 million square meters.
