Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), who are helping build the Dongdiao (eastern transfer) section of Fuzhou Metro Line 6, have successfully poured the first base plate for Shawei metro station in the provincial capital of Fujian Province.
Constructors from CREC4 Urban Rail Transit Engineering Branch Co., Ltd successfully cast the station’s first base plate on September 12, 2023, marking the full start for the construction of Shawei station’s main structures.
Located at the intersection of Zhangjiang Road and Shawei Road, Shawei Station is designed in a north-south direction along Zhangjiang Road, which is a north-south artery in Changle District. It is an underground two-story island-type station with a single crossover behind the station. The station, with a total length of 281.6 meters, has three entrances and exits, one reserved entrance or exit, and three wind pavilion groups. The engineering work is conducted using a method of partially semi-covered excavation.
The Dongdiao section of Fuzhou Metro Line 6, starting at Wanshou Station without covering it and ending at Shibakong Gate Station, extends for 5.549 kilometers and has five stations, all with underground lines. Upon operation, the line will be connected to the existing Fuzhou Metro Line 6, and passengers can transfer to Binhai (Lakeside) Express Line at Binhai New City Station, thus linking with Binhai New City and the central urban areas of Changle District. As a key transport line for Fuzhou City to “expand eastward and southward, and extend to lakes and the sea”, it will be of vital strategic importance for Fuzhou to become an internationalized metropolis.
