Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) have fully connected the first side span on Yujiang River Super Bridge, a major project of the Shanglin-Hengxian Expressway in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Constructors from CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd, who are helping build the Yujiang River Super Bridge located in Xijin, fully linked the bridge’s first side span on September 5, laying a solid foundation for the full operation of the expressway in 2024. Shanglin County and Hengxian County are both under the jurisdiction of the regional capital of Nanning.
The Yujiang River Super Bridge in Xijin, a key project in the Phase-I construction of Shanglin-Hengxian Expressway, has a total length of 1,190 meters. While the main bridge extends for 680 meters, its main span runs up to 400 meters and the whole bridge is a cable-stayed bridge covered by double-cable plane steel-concrete composite beams, supported by two towers at both ends.
The Shanglin-Hengxian Expressway, as a key project in Guangxi, will directly connect the counties of Shanglin, Binyang and Hengxian under Nanning upon completion. It will be of vital significance to help build Nanning into an important gateway city to connect with the Belt and Road Initiative, and into a regional internationalized city. Meanwhile, it can also help bolster the construction of Nanning into a regional internationalized comprehensive transport hub.
