Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), helping construct an intercity railway linking three prefecture-level cities in Anhui, have finished casting the first segment of the continuous beam on a super-large railway bridge traversing Fenhong River.
Constructors from CREC4 Fourth Engineering Co., Ltd, working on Guzhen West Super Bridge on the No 4 Bid for the exterior lines for the Huaibei-Suzhou-Bengbu Intercity Railway, successfully poured the first section of the continuous beam traversing Fenhong River in Guzhen County under Bengbu City on September 4, 2023.
The cast-in-place continuous beam traversing Fenhong River, located between Pier No 847 and Pier No 850, will be composed of nine sections. The first section, which is 153.5 meters long, will need some 2,440 cubic meters of concrete for casting.
The intercity railway linking three prefecture-level cities of Huaibei, Suzhou and Bengbu is backbone project in the intercity railway network in northern Anhui and a key channel for the Xuzhou-Bengbu section of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway. Upon completion, it will help alleviate the transport pressure of Beijing-Shanghai HSR, bolster the link of the city clusters in northern Anhui with the provincial capital of Hefei.
It will also help drive the economic and social development along the line, and enhance the local rural revitalization and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta integration.
