A high school, donated by China Railway Group Limited — the parent company of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4), and built by CREC4, has been handed over to education operators in Guidong County under prefecture-level city of Chenzhou in Hunan Province.
The Zhaiqian High School was handed over to local operators in Guidong during a hand-over ceremony between August 16 and 18, which was attended by CREC4 President and Deputy Party Secretary Chen Wenjian, as well as Han Yonggang, general manager of CREC4.
During his stay in Chenzhou, Chen Wenjian also conducted field researches in the city’s Rucheng County and Guidong County, examining targeted assistance work launched by CREC there. Han Yonggang, Wang Weidong, vice-mayor of Chenzhou, Huang Siping, Party secretary of Rucheng County and Wu Zhiping, Party secretary of Guidong County attended Chen in his field research.
Chen and his entourage visited the rural revitalization demonstration belt along the Tielu River at Longxing Village and Zhuling Village under Rucheng’s Daping Township, as well as the Gangmei Cultivation Base in Pule Township under Guidong. Chen also attended the opening ceremony of Rucheng Vocational Middle School’s Sports Museum and the delivery ceremony of Zhaiqian High School in Guidong.
During a seminar, Chen Wenjian noted that CREC will leverage its own advantages, and work together with the local authorities in a bid to jointly solidify the poverty alleviation achievements and boost rural revitalization.
At the delivery ceremony of Zhaiqian Middle School in Guidong, Han stressed that CREC4 will continue to provide industrial assistance, education assistance and consumption assistance in local areas, so as to help propel the progress of local rural revitalization.
Located in Zhaiqian Town, the Zhaiqian High School has a total construction area of 10,683 square meters, covering one teaching building, one canteen-dormitory building, and one faculty dormitory building. The school can accommodate over 800 students, including 600 boarding students, and help promote the progress of local education. During the construction work, CREC4 also hired over 80 local laborers to help build the school.
