An urban domestic sewage pipe network project, built by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) in the prefecture-level city of Maoming in Guangdong Province, has started to greet water for the whole line.
The 143.842-kilometer-long urban domestic sewage pipe network project in the Xiaodongjiang River Basin started its water supply throughout the whole line on August 11, 2023, said its builder CREC4 Third Engineering Co., Ltd.
The project, including 120.594 kilometers of open-cut sewage pipelines and 23.248 kilometers of non-excavated pipelines, as well as two pumping stations, is one of the key environmental protection engineering undertakings in Guangdong.
Maoming is located at the intersection of three national strategic areas of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hainan Free Trade Port, and Beibu Gulf City Clusters. Administering two districts and three county-level cities, Miaoming has a population of 6.2382 million by the end of 2022.
Since CREC4 builders sped up the construction of the pipe network project in July 2022, they have been accelerating the progress of the project by increasing input in manpower and mechanical equipment, while safeguarding work safety and quality.
After the project is officially put into operation, it will help bolster the collection and treatment capacity of urban domestic sewage, effectively improve the quality of water-protection environment and living surroundings, and perfect the outlook of “beautiful townships.”
