Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) have started constructing the Phase-II expansion project for a waterworks in Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong Province, aiming to offer sufficient water supply for local need.
The Phase-II expansion project for Huangge Waterworks, undertaken by CREC4 Third Engineering Co., Ltd, commenced on July 25, intending to safeguard sufficient water supply for the construction of Nansha National Economic Demonstration Zone and meet the fast-growing demand for water consumption in the local region.
Covering an area of 68,014 square meters, the construction area of the expansion project is 30,274 square meters, with a designed water-supply volume of 200,000 tons per day.
The CREC4’s main tasks cover 15 single buildings, including new distribution wells, pre-ozone contact tanks, sedimentation and lamination tanks, flap sand filters, ozone contact tanks, ozone workshops, flap carbon filters, water supply pump room, chlorination room, high-voltage power transformation rooms, sludge concentration tanks, laboratory building and duty room. In addition, there are also new underground auxiliary works, including valve well, flowmeter well, plant complex pipelines, and off-site municipal pipe supporting network.
