¡¾The main body of the Rongjiang South River Super Bridge, built by CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co Ltd, ushers in its fully completion of cast-on-site box beam engineering on July 15.It is part of the Jieyang-Huilai Railway line in Guangdong Province.¡¿
This helps to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of key projects on the railway line running between prefecture-level city of Jieyang and Huilai, a county under its jurisdiction, in eastern Guangdong Province.
While the main line of Jieyang-Huilai Railway runs for 88.511 kilometers, China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4) is building 34.743 kilometers of it, including projects on long-span continuous beams, tunnels, roadbeds, and new railway stations. CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co Ltd is in charge of the construction work.
Running for 175 kilometers, Rongjiang River runs through prefecture-level cities of Shanwei, Jieyang and Shantou before pouring into the sea as the second longest river in eastern Guangdong. Scenes along the river are beautiful, and there are a lot of historical sites with abundant tourism resources. There are a South River and a North River to empty themselves into Rongjiang.
The Rongjiang South River Super Bridge has a total length of 1,576.84 meters, with 243 pile foundations, 44 bearing platforms, 44 pier shafts and nine cast-in-place box beams. Among them, the 13 # -14 # piers were constructed with cast-in-place box beams with a method of hanging basket cantilever construction. With 32.6 meters long, 7.6 meters wide and 2.5 meters high, it used 191 cubic meters of concrete to be cast on-site in one go.
Meanwhile, the steel trestle bridge of the Rongjiang South River Super Bridge has a designed length of 408 meters and is 6 meters wide on the main trestle. It is placed on the left side of the railway line, and there is a navigation hole set between the No 16 and No 17 piers of the super bridge, allowing ship passage.
