Building materials expert Miao Changwen, who is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Southeast University, paid a visit to the headquarters of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd on June 30.
Han Yonggang, general manager of CREC4, and Liang Chao, deputy general manager and chief engineering of CREC4, met with Miao, conducting friendly exchanges.
Having been engaged in the theoretical research and engineering technology application research on civil engineering materials for a long time, Miao has achieved multiple achievements in such key technologies as concrete crack resistance, service life and durability performance improvement of major infrastructure projects, and research and development of multi-functional civil engineering materials, making significant contributions to the country’s engineering construction industry.
After accompanying Miao on visiting some cultural museums at CREC4 headquarters, Han briefed the guest on CREC4’s overall basic situation and its new engineering material products, saying that CREC4 is a large construction enterprise with comprehensive construction capacities, with a business scope covering most areas of the construction and installation industry, as well as investment projects such as new material research, development and production, engineering design and supervision, logistics trade and services industry, real estate, infrastructure modes of BT (Build-Transfer) and PPP (Public-Private Partnership). Its new engineering material products, such as concrete admixtures, track structural materials, and asphalt waterproofing materials, are being widely used in various engineering spheres covering railways, highways, municipal engineering, and housing construction, Han said.
While lauding CREC4’s achievements in its over 70 years of development, Miao hoped to see extensive and in-depth bilateral cooperation in such spheres as development of new engineering material products and the cultivation of engineering and technical talent, so as to help speed up the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and enhance the healthy and orderly development of the country’s construction industry.
