Liu Bo, Party secretary and chairman of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), has met in Hefei with Cheng Xuetao, a member of the Standing Committee of Hefei Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of CPC Baohe District Committee, aiming to boost better bilateral ties.
The meeting at CREC4 headquarters on January 30 was also attended by Han Guanghui, a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Bohe District Committee and a deputy director of Bohe District People’s Government, Wang Tianjun, CREC4 chief accountant, and Yang Hui, deputy general manager of CREC4.
While briefing the guests on CREC4’s overall development in recent years, Liu noted that as a centrally-administered enterprise which is based in Bohe District of Hefei, CREC4 has displayed a leading and pioneering role in seizing development opportunities amid Anhui’s investment and development endeavors, and participated in railway, highway, urban rail, municipal engineering and other infrastructure construction in the eastern Chinese province.
In 2022 alone, CREC4 has undertaken a dozen major engineering projects such as Nanchang-Jingdezhen-Huangshan High-speed Railway, Hefei-Xinyi High Speed Railway, Chuzhou-Nanjing Intercity Rail, Line 8 of Hefei Metro, and Shexian-Chun’an Expressway, Liu said. He noted these dozen key engineering projects have helped CREC4 contribute over 120 billion yuan ($17.9 billion) to the GDP of Anhui Province, and 100.1 billion yuan to Hefei’s GDP during the year 2022, showcasing the responsibility and growing role of a centrally-administered enterprise based in Anhui.
Cheng stressed that for many consecutive years, Baohe has been ranking first in comprehensive strength among the various counties, county-level cities and development zones of Anhui, with its GDP reaching 160.9 billion yuan in 2021. With 255 high-tech enterprises as well as 61 enterprises and projects from World World Top 500 enterprises and China’s Top 500 enterprises based in Baohe, the district has a solid foundation in modern services industry, industrial establishments and construction industry, showing a strong momentum in its high-quality development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Baohe will seize some major historical opportunities such as the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the rise of the central regions as well as the building of Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, he said.
Cheng hoped that as a leading force in the country’s infrastructure construction, CREC4 can fully participate in Baohe’s four development strategies in bolstering Chaohu Lakeside development, a new take-off for China’s central regions, old city renovations and rural revitalization, in a bid to make greater contributions to the economic and social progress of Baohe District as well as Anhui Province.
