The renovation and upgrading project of Jiujiang Railway Station, Jiangxi Province, which was undertaken by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4), passed completion acceptance successfully on September 22, laying a solid foundation for its final operation.
The railway station buildings renovation and upgrading project, undertaken by CREC4 Installation Co., Ltd, was assessed by a joint acceptance team composed of experts from various branches of China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
Jiujiang Railway Station, located in Lianxi District under Jiujiang City, is a first-class station under the jurisdiction of the Jiujiang Depot of China Railway Nanchang Bureau Group Co., Ltd. It is also a key station on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Nanchang-Jiujiang Intercity Railway, Wuhan-Jiujiang Railway and Wuhan-Jiujiang High-speed Railway.
The upgrading project includes the expansion of the station buildings by using the courtyard space to add a second-story building, the expansion of the entrance to the central waiting room, the renovation and relocation of stairs leading to the second floor, optimization of the existing central waiting room and the waiting halls of basic platforms, as well as renovations on communications, information, signal, electricity, fire protection, heating and ventilation, water supply and drainage facilities. Upon completion, the total construction area of the station buildings at Jiujiang Railway Station will reach 20,199.54 square meters (including newly-added 5,136.84 square meters), among which the waiting area will hit 9,409.47 square meters (including newly-added 4,630.90 square meters).
Since entering the construction site on June 30, the project department asked all the subdivisions involved in the renovation project to consolidate a “work safety first” awareness among all the participating builders.
Since the start of the project, the project department has always adhered to a 16-character construction concept of “smooth progress with full integration, green and harmony, economic yet with artistic value, intelligence and convenience,” and has provided people in Jiujiang with a satisfactory answer.
It has been learned that the whole renovation and upgrading project, which is designed to be a top-quality gem undertaking, will offer a new face-lift to the station’s infrastructure and overall appearance. It will help the prefecture-level city to boost its image of a famous tourist city and to greet the provincial-wide participants who are to take part in the 16th Provincial Sports Games.
