The Kilinto Industrial Park, built by Chinese construction giant China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) on the outskirts of Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa, has been officially handed over to the Ethiopian side.
Lying on 270 hectares of land some 15 kilometers southeast of the city center of Addis Ababa, the Kilinto Industrial Park was built at a cost of $204 million, covering construction of asphalt roads, bridges, water supply and drainage facilities, sewage, administrative office buildings, logistics warehouses, police stations, health centers, and fire stations.
As the largest industrial park in Addis Ababa, the Kilinto Industrial Park is also one of the five industrial park construction projects commissioned by the Ethiopian government so far.
It has been learned that the KIP, which is built exclusively for pharmaceutical firms, will help lure world-class pharmaceutical companies with a view to help Ethiopia's economy through the export of pharmaceutical products as well as import-substitution.
