CREC4-built road in Xiongan passes completion acceptance2023-01-17 14:28:16

A key road in Xiongan New Area in Hebei Province, partially built by China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4), passed completion acceptance on January 11, laying a solid foundation for the opening of the project’s Phase I.

The Phase I of Xiongmao Road links the Baoding-Jinghai National Highway (G336) with the Baiyangdian bypass highway of Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway (G45).

Established on April 1, 2017, Xiongan New Area spans the three counties of Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin and is aimed to relieve Beijing of functions nonessential to its role as the national capital. Unlike traditional urban development, Xiongan will consist of three sections to avoid over-crowding of resources and population in one central zone— The north section, the central area, and the south area, and the start-up area will serve as its city proper, covering 198 square kilometers.

The Phase I of Xiongmao Road, which is 5.924 kilometers long, starts from the east extension line of Xiongan Avenue in the start-up area and ends at the Baiyangdian branch line of Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway. The Phase I project will be built in two stages, with the first stage — the Baiyangdian branch line of Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway — running for 1.677 km.

As a newly-built project, the highway is an urban trunk road with two-way six lanes and a designed speed of 50 km per hour.

CREC4’s job — covering electromechanical and ancillary works — includes engineering of traffic signs, power supply and distribution facilities, as well as lighting facilities.
