CREC4 builders rotate a 12,000-ton precast box girder deck in Henan2022-12-30 16:52:02

Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) have successfully rotated a 120-meter-long, 12,000-ton precast box girder deck in Nanyang City, Henan Province, to traverse the existing Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway without affecting its normal operation.

CREC4 constructors, working on the Nanyang Express Corridor linking the city proper with Yahe zone, witnessed the successful rotation of the precast box girder deck on December 22, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent operation of the express line and offering travel convenience to the city’s 12.08 million residents.

The Nanyang Express Corridor includes a two-way six-lane min line, and a two-way four-lane auxiliary road and borders the existing Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway which reaches Liuzhou City in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The rotated precast box girder deck traverses the Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway in a north-south direction.

Currently, Central China’s Henan is speeding up road construction in one of its major prefecture-level cities — Nanyang — to let the city’s 12.08 million residents better connect with the outside regions. As part of the province’s S231 Expressway, the Nanyang Express Corridor can let the local residents better travel to other cities in Henan as as well as to neighboring Hubei province upon its operation.

Xu Tao, the CREC4 staffer who is in charge of the project, said the Nanyang Express Corridor is a key expressway connecting the downtown area, Longwanggou Scenic Spot, Zishan Area and Yahe Work Zone, helping boost the city’s urbanization drive.

The CREC4 constructors followed stringent work plans and work safety procedures, thus ensuring the successful completion of the rotation.
