CREC4 builders in steady progress on high-speed railway in Guangxi2022-12-29 14:52:22

Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) are making steady progress in helping construct the Nanning-Yulin High Speed Railway in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Constructors from CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd finished erecting needed box beams by December 14 on the 612-meter Yujiang River Super Bridge, which is located in Baihe Township under Nanning City.

The super bridge has a total length of 6,356.98 meters, including the main bridge at 612 meters long, with a main span of 330 meters. The superstructure of the bridge uses steel box girders, which serve as the main span of the bridge, while the side span uses concrete beams cast on site. The approach bridges on the east and west banks of the river use box girders.

The Nanning-Yulin HSR No 5-1 Bid Project Department of CREC4 Fifth Engineering, which is in charge of the 4.4-kilometer-long bid with engineering works on railway bridges and subgrade, oversees two precasting yards for making box beams for the HSR, and a sleeper factory.

The Baihe Precasting Yard and the Hezhou Precasting Yard will be in charge of precasting 912 box beams for the Yujiang River Super Bridge, Hengxian East Super Bridge and Heimaogou Railway Bridge. The department’s sleeper factory will undertakes the prefabrication of 584,000 units of CRTS (China's railway track system) double-block sleepers along the whole line.

By December 14, the CREC4 builders have precast and installed 700 box beams, among which the Baihe Precasting Yard has made 396 box beams and is expected to finish its whole task within this year, while the Hengzhou Precasting Yard has precast 393 box beams, about three-fourth of its total job.

The 193.31-kilometer Nanning-Yulin HSR, which links two prefecture-level city of Nanning and Yulin, is the first high-speed railway solely invested by Guangxi. It will be extended to Shenzhen in Guangdong Province later.

Upon completion, the Nanning-Yulin HSR will help bolster the interactions between the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone in Guangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
