Han Yonggang, general manager of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd, has attended an opening ceremony in building two major expressways linking the provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui and Henan, making a speech as a representative of the construction units.
The ceremony was held in Fuyang City, Anhui, on December 15 to launch the construction of the Fuyang section of the Xuzhou-Huaibei-Fuyang Expressway, and the Linquan-Yingshang section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway. Sun Zhengdong, secretary of the Fuyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, declared the opening of the construction work, while Fuyang Mayor Liu Yujie made a speech.
The Fuyang section of the Xuzhou-Huaibei-Fuyang Expressway, which links the three prefecture-level cities of Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province, Huaibei and Fuyang in Anhui Province, is 48 kilometers and costs 7.29 billion yuan ($1.05 billion). Meanwhile, the Linquan-Yingshang section of the Hefei-Zhoukou Expressway, which costs 14.76 billion yuan, is jointly invested by Fuyang and Anhui Transportation Holding Group Co., Ltd. Hefei is the provincial capital of Anhui while Zhoukou is a prefecture-level city in Henan. The 119.2-km Linquan-Yingshang sectionwill later connect with the Shouxian-Yingshang section which is under construction.
Han noted that the Fuyang section of the Xuzhou-Huaibei-Fuyang Expressway, which is presently the largest single infrastructure project independently invested by Fuyang, will help connect northern Anhui with the city clusters in the central plains, and integrate them into the Yangtze River Delta metropolitan area.
Han urged the constructors to jointly build it into an expressway full of “trust, safety, top quality, environmental enrichment and progress,”and full support the economic and social progress of Fuyang.
CREC4 is building the No 1 Bid of the Fuyang section of the Xuzhou-Huaibei-Fuyang Expressway. Extending for 24.1 kilometers, the job covers subgrade earthwork, subgrade, pavement, bridges, culverts, tunnel andbox beams, traffic safety facilities and embedded pipelines, greening and environmental protection facilities. It needs to build two¡¡super large bridges extending for 3,031meters, seven medium-sized bridgesextending for 450 meters, and 26 culverts.
