Builders from China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREC4) successfully completed the right side of the steel box girder traversing the Huxin Road on September 6 —— a key project on the west extension line of Xianghai (Fragrant Sea) Bridge in Zhu’ai City, Guangdong Province, laying a solid prerequisite for the subsequent construction.
The interconnecting main line bridge traversing the Huxin Road, a major bid on TJ1 —— the first section of the west extension line of Xianghai Bridge —— extends for 1,576 meters in length at 16.278 meters wide and is being constructed by CREC4 Fifth Engineering Co., Ltd. The TJ1 section will be linked with the main line of the Xianghai Bridge which is under construction, and runs for 4.292 kilometers. The main engineering covers bridges, box girder frames and pavement works.
As an important part of Zhuhai’s “eight horizontal and eleven vertical” backbone road network, the first section of the west extension line of Xianghai Bridge will integrate the Xianghai Bridge with the west extension line of the Xianghai Bridge into a whole, effectively easing the east-west traffic pressure in the city.
