Ethiopian Roads Authority chief visits CREC4-built project2022-04-12 15:12:04

HabtamuTegegne, chief of the Ethiopian Roads Authority, made a visit on April 2 to a road and housing project built by the First Engineering Co Ltd of China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CREC4).

Located in Ethiopia’s Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region, the project is some 470 kilometers from the national capital of Addis Ababa. It mainly includesa 115-kilometer-long new road and some VIP housing facilities.

At present, 60 percent of its main bodies of the project has been completed, while the foundations construction of the substructure for 20 VIP villas accomplished. Currently, CREC4 builders are doing concrete pouring for walls and roofs, in addition to built-in fittings for power linesand water pipes.

Habtamu Tegegne and his entourage were briefed by the project leader on the project overview, construction progress and measures, as well as engineering difficulties, voicingtheirsatisfaction with the project’s progress. The Ethiopian official asked all the staff members of the project department to make consistentefforts, with their full energetic spirit and building capabilities, in ensuring all the VIP villas can receive guests by the end of June.

Located in southern Ethiopia and bordering Sudan and Kenya, the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region has a land area of 112,000 square kilometers, accounting for 10 percent of the country’s total, and enjoys apopulation of 14.9 million. It is learned that the region’s main cash crops are coffee, corn and potatoes, anditis renowned for its exports such as coffee, hides and skins. Its mineral resources mainly include gold, coal, mineral water, clay and iron ore.
