The reconstructed station on the Shanghai-Kunming line is divided into two station buildings in the north and south, covering an area of 15,000 square meters, which is more than twice the size of the original station and almost the size of two soccer fields.
Citizens can use an underground passage to shuttle the two station buildings. It is estimated that the underground passage can accommodate 2,500 passengers an hour. Passengers can transfer directly to public transportation within the station.
It is reported that the new Jiaxing railway station will be officially completed and put into operation before July this year.
